Bondo Mp Hon Gideon Ochanda attended the launch of KCB Foundation at Kasarani in Nairobi,Kenya expressing optimism at the prospects of his constituency partnering with the foundation to help in the empowerment of the youths in their grassroots projects.

Speaking in the same function Hon Gideon Ochanda said, “Going into the future, we believe that the pace and trajectory of our youth empowerment programs will largely be determined by our efforts in improving our partnerships with the youths and private entities both at the local and national level.”

Hon Ochanda added,"Today the KCB Foundation launched its youth empowerment program dubbed 2Jiajiri, a program that seeks to empower budding entrepreneurs to scale and upscale their business ventures.This comes at a time when the government has pushed for youths to embrace self employment and business creation as a means to achieve economic sustainability."

Ochanda continued,"We applaud the KCB Foundation for coming up with this initiative.Entrepreneurs mainly face the challenge of access to financing and hands on skills."

KCB Foundation Launches 50 Billion 2Jiajiri Program

The KCB Foundation will focus on 5 pillars: Health, Education, Enterprise Development, Human Aid and Agriculture"

KCB has set aside Ksh 10 billion every year for the next 5 years to create at least 2.5 million direct and indirect jobs.

Quick Facts

The program includes a 12 month incubation period where entrepreneurs will have access to incubation and mentor-ship resources.

Entrepreneurs will enjoy discounted financing to support business growth.

Participating entrepreneurs will get connected to mentors, financial advisors and investors.

70% of the beneficiaries will be from the “Jua Kali” artisans.

2000 beneficiaries have already been recruited in the pilot phase.

KCB Business Challenge

In addition ,the bank has also launched the KCB Business Challenge that will run for 60 days from Thursday 10th March 2016 to Sunday 8th May 2016. This challenge is open to KCB account holders between the ages of 18-34 years.

To participate in the challenge, go to www.bankika.co.ke to open a KCB online account.
Fill your details in the online form provided then submit it.
Once submitted, you will receive your account number and mobile banking details via sms.
