Ketraco on a mission to upgrade & expand transmission lines
AA – KETRACO in a message on the sideline of Energy Journalism excellence awards at Intercontinental hotels yesterday,the CEO,Fernandes Barasa said he wants to make sure KETRACO dedicates its service to become a world class provider of transmission lines shown through its commitment to excellence and service to industries & households connecting to the national grid
”Ketraco is geared towards building new transmission lines from scratch and also undertaking landmark projects in a way that will boost transmission lines in the region in the 21st century.” further added the interim CEO Mr. Barasa.
Mr Barasa continued,"the Company is in solid hands which includes seeing the Company grow its portfolio of projects and completion of more transmission lines in its ongoing projects to make more towns in North Eastern,Nyanza,Coast,Rift Valley,Eastern & Western close to Uganda to get connected to the National Grid."

The awards are used to reward and promote excellent energy journalism in the media.
The Cabinet Secretary for Energy and Petroleum, Hon. Charles Keter, officiated at the launch of the Energy Journalism Excellence Awards (EJEA) at the Intercontinental Hotel, Nairobi, from 7.00am t0 9.30am yesterday.
The Awards have been initiated by the Kenya Electricity Generating Company (KenGen) and other parastatals within the energy sector and are aimed at encouraging and sustaining positive, objective, factual coverage of issues in the sector to help citizens participate in the economy.
